Continuing with the trend of vastly improving the network infrastructure at Unallocated Space, we are now searching for anyone, someone, a couple of people–to be involved in building out our lab environment. Labs that we would like to see include: Malware Analysis, Forensics, Honeypots, Pentesting, Hardening, and many others!

Unfortunately, the few building the network don’t have the time nor all the knowledge to put all of this together so we are seeking outside help with making Unallocated Space the center of hobbyist Information Security. Do you want to help people better understand what it takes to improve the security of their platforms? Here’s your chance!

What you have to work with:

  • Dell Poweredge 6950 w/ 4x dual-core Opterons. The system is equipped with 64GB of RAM with a combination of 10K and 15K RPM SAS drives. Connected to the core switch with a 4Gbps full duplex aggregated network link.
  • 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz N wireless.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 Internet connectivity. Play and test vulnerabilities with the new Internet protocol!
  • Connectivity to the Chaos VPN (http://wiki.hamburg.ccc.de/ChaosVPN)

Feel free to hit us up on the mailing list, tweet to @Unallocated, or respond to this post if you’re interested.
