UnalloCTF Flag

Registration is now open!

Come show off your attack skills!  Unallocated Space will host an attack-style Capture-The-Flag competition focused on the mindset, not the tools.  Creativity is significantly more important the little Metasploit that may be useful.

UnalloCTF 2.0
We have officially announced the next iteration of the Unallocated Space CTF to be held again on Memorial Day (May 26, 2014). Watch this page for more detailed announcements and registration information on Saturday, April 12.

We have a basic layout for Round 2. Similarly to UnalloCTF 1.0, we will have a separate network from the Unallocated Space Infrastructure network for this challenge. We are going to have a larger variety of challenges for UnalloCTF 2.0. Please let us know if you have any questions at UnalloCTF (AT) unallocatedspace (dot) org .

UnalloCTF 1.0
The main event was on Memorial Day (Monday, May 27th, 2013).  No qualifiers are necessary; it’s first-come-first-serve.

There are 7 slots for on-site teams and an additional 13 slots for remote (VPN) teams, although on-site teams will have an advantage.  Each team will have 6 hours (2pm-8pm Eastern) to compromise targets and capture flags.

The cost is $25/team for up to 5 players.  Prizes will include Trophies, UAS shirts, 8 Raspberry Pi’s and more.

Registration is closed and the event has passed. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at UnalloCTF {at} unallocatedspace {dot} org.

Any DOS attacks, ARP spoofing, deleting flags, or attacking the scoreboard will result in loss of points or disqualification. Cheaters were disqualified, but fun was had.

Post Mortem: Teams used a combination of web exploitation, Sys-admin misconfigurations, as well as a few vulnerabilities to plow through the twelve target boxes on the network. Most targets contained roughly 3 flags.
